Ruwanwelisaya

 The Ruwanwelisaya is a very famous stupa in Sri Lanka. It is located in the city of Anuradhapura. People also call it the "Great Stupa."

A famous king named Dutugemunu built this stupa a long time ago. He wanted to show his love for Lord Buddha. It is one of the tallest and most beautiful monuments in our country.  

Buddhists believe that the relics of Lord Buddha are kept inside the Ruwanwelisaya. Because of this, many people visit it every day. They bring beautiful flowers and light lamps to worship.



Ruwanwelisaya is a very important place in our history. We should be proud of it and protect it.
